B&G® Named as Official Sponsor of Team HEAT

Southampton, UK – B&G®, the world’s leading sailing navigation and instrument specialist, has announced its partnership with Team HEAT. The crew, headed up by skipper Max Augustin, consists of eight talented sailors. With an average age of 27 they form the youngest sailing team in the professional world league and they will be competing in the Melges 32 World League beginning in Italy. The boat named HEAT, is a Melges 32 , this is a one-design class of sailboat commonly used for racing, the sportsboat is notable for its ability to plane over the water downwind in modest winds and for its combination of a simple design that is highly tunable.

In preparation for the world league, HEAT was fitted out with a comprehensive B&G® system. The H5000 display provides quick oversight of all sailing data, the PCs run tactical software connected to the WTP3 instruments, Zeus™3S multifunction displays provide sailing data, radar display, chart/AIS overview and also allow touchscreen control and monitoring of all onboard systems via the digital switching system. “We are very proud to have B&G® as a new premium partner by our side. In racing it is important to maximise the potential of the sailboat and besides the crew itself, we have to rely on boat data to identify speed potential. With B&G's sensors, displays and years of experience in racing, we are optimally equipped and ready for the season!“ said Max Augustin (helmsman Team HEAT).

The Melges world league Argentario rally will begin on the 17th June.
