The new Triton Edge sailing processor is designed to enhance the quality of your sailing data on board through easy-to-use calibration routines and enhanced wind calculations, ensuring that the data you see on your instruments is as accurate as it can be. But one of the most useful features of the Triton Edge is the integrated data recorder. This sits quietly in the background, logging the key data on your boat’s network, from Boat Speed to Heel Angle, Apparent Wind, True Wind and Depth.

The data is automatically uploaded to the cloud when you get in range of marina wifi or an on-board internet connection, so that after a race or cruise – or a Round the Island race – you can play back your race and look at the recorded sensor logs.

The B&G App displays your track and the accompanying recorded wind, speed and performance data overlaid on the latest C-MAP cartography, so after you have crossed the finish line you are able to look back at your race and replay it, looking at key data such as Boat Speed and Wind Speed, or even checking the recorded depth alongside your track to see just how close you got to the shallows on Ryde Sands.

For more in-depth performance analysis, you can download the recorded logs to your PC or tablet and import them into a third-party sail analysis program.
