Southampton, UK - B&G®, the world’s leading sailing navigation and instrument specialist, is excited to announce the launch of its premium multi-station black box marine radio systems - the V100 VHF series. These systems are expandable and customisable to suit any boat and any on-water communication need. Boasting a clear, bright display with adjustable backlighting and night modes and alpha-numeric keypad the V100 series is styled to complement the B&G product range, providing a fully integrated look and feel to the boat systems.
The V100 VHF series is a premium multi-station black box DSC VHF radio designed for larger boats with integrated systems. Boasting a hidden processor unit and wireless handset options with charging stations the system provides a clean installation, and offers users the freedom of a handheld VHF anywhere onboard.
Full customisation and integration
The Modular system design includes integrated GPS receiver, configuration options for up to 4 wired and 4 wireless handsets. Further options include hailer, horn, for up to 4 configurable external speakers and AIS silent switching, which can be used as an intercom as well as VHF. With full system integration the NMEA 2000® communications create ultimate flexibility. The handset backlighting can be grouped across the system, and NMEA 0183 options allow integration with other 3rd party systems.
Complete visibility with integrated AIS with the V100-B
The V100-B VHF model also features a Class-B AIS receiver and transmitter, allowing users to see and be seen by other vessels with AIS equipment. The integrated AIS receiver is a valuable aid to help avoid collisions in crowded harbours and waterways. It monitors the location of all nearby AIS-enabled vessels, providing real-time information in any weather condition, night and day. AIS information can be viewed directly on the radio's screen or via a compatible multifunction device, as an overlay on a chart or radar screen.
Designed for Clear Communication
The Class D DSC approved radio can make and receive DSC distress signals including current position, and supports direct calling to other DSC-equipped radios. A dual-channel watch enables monitoring of the current channel and emergency channel. A record and replay feature ensures important calls are never missed. The system includes one external speaker with additional outputs for up to four speakers and one optional loudhailer/foghorn. Onboard the system can also be used as an intercom system ensuring simple communication with your crews, ideal for larger vessels or in bad weather conditions.
“Our new VHF systems offer sailors improved flexible communications, designed especially for sailors,” said Simon Conder, B&G Head of Global Brand . “The V100 and V100-B system is expandable and customisable and offers unique features like a 60 second audio rewind that allows the user to repeat an urgent or garbled transmission and Track Buddy, where you can track the positions of up to 5 companion vessels using their VHF MMSI number. While the top-of-the-range V100-B boasts a built-in Class-B AIS transceiver, so you can see and be seen whilst out sailing.”
